The magnificent perspective on the snow-topped Kanchenjunga is seen from this evergreen town. It is 2591 meters high from the ocean level. The most stunning perspective on Kanchenjunga can be seen from a picturesque view point call Tiffindara. Nathula and Jelep La can be seen mostly from Tiffindara in Rishop. From left to right – Mt Kharg, Mt Kokthang, Mt Rathung, Mt Kabru, Mt Talung, Mt Pandim, Mt Kanchenjunga, Mt Simvo, Mt Narsing and Mt Siniolchu can be seen on a sunny morning. Altogether this wonderful place gives you a blended delight sight of mountains, woods; trilling fowls, crisp morning and the night sky. During the initial days, one needed to trek around 5 km from Lava to reach here. But today you can head to Rishop (9 km) through a motorable street from Lava. The town is brimming with little homestay and hotels that offer essential rooms and basic civic anaties. 


How to reach:

Via Air:

The closest air terminal is Bagdogra. There are different methods of transport accessible to arrive at these spots. 

Via Train:

The nearest railroad stations are Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri. At these spots different sorts of transport are available. 

By Road:

From Siliguri remains (at Darjeeling More) you can get shared jeeps to Lava. Syndicate worked shared jeeps also available for Lava and Loleygaon. There is also a bus transport to Lava from PC Mittal transport at Siliguri.

From Kalimpong, shared car leave for Lava in the first part of the day at 6:30am and 10am. 

NJP/Siliguri the fare for Lava in a small reserved car via Gajoldoba-Gorubathan is INR 2800 (Approximately) and via Kalimpong is INR 3200 (Approximately). It takes about 3 hours via Gorubathan and 3.5 hours via Kalimpong
